TRY WATERCOLOR -

Beginner Class with Tasneem Arif

This is part of her ongoing weekly class (1 hour per week – $120/month)… but you can try your first class for just $30 - no commitment

A calm, beginner-friendly session at Acorn Haven Studios to see if you love it.

You’ll be guided step-by-step as you learn simple watercolor techniques and start building confidence with your brush. No experience needed. Those more advanced will be coached to expand their level.

Thursday, June 4 and continuing each Thursday unless otherwise noted
5 PM – 6 PM
Limited to 4 students

Materials (please bring):
• 24 Color Watercolor Set (Kuretake GANSAI TAMBI - Tasneem recommended)
• Long Round Brushes – Sizes 0, 2, 4, 6 (Princeton - Tasneem recommended)
• Watercolor block

Learn to sculpt the facial features in water based clay. Students will learn structure and anatomy of the eyes, nose, mouth, and ears, while exploring ways to make each feature an artistic piece of wall sculpture unique to them.  Each participant will come away with at least 4 wall pieces in green-ware, and new skills to explore their own projects more deeply.  We will be working at an approximately 3:1 ratio (larger than life-size).  This proportion allows for ease in learning the small details of each feature. Surface ideas will also be discussed.

You will leave the workshop with greenware clay models ready for bisque firing. We can bisque fire at Acorn Haven Studios during the week for your pick up within 1-2 weeks if desired. The finished sculpture can then be cold finished or glazed. Pieces can be either wall mounted or set on an appropriate stand.

Materials: clay provided. Bisque fire included, if desired.

Optional: you may wish to bring your own clay tools, scribe, etc.

Suggested: bring a mid-day lunch.

$140/person for the full weekend.

Prepaid in advance. A full refund if cancelation prior to 1 week, then prorated accordingly.
